About the Hands-On-Training

Biotechnology is a fast growing multidisciplinary applied science for human life. The program "Recent Advances in Microbes & Plants: Basic to Applied Aspects (RAMPBAA)" aims to provide a platform to interact with the experts in the field and have hands on training on state of the art techniques in Biotechnology.

The lecture sessions are carefully designed to give the necessary theoretical background. The laboratory exercises include problems drawn from all the core areas to refresh basics and understand the practical application of the concepts. In addition, mass cultivation of Blue-green algae, maintenance of Herbal garden and management of Biogas unit will be familiarized during field visits

The workshop especially emphasizes and promotes early-career researchers / faculty in the following three themes:

  • Isolation, identification and mass cultivation of Blue Green Algae
  • Cultivation of Medicinal Plants
  • Sustainable Production of Biogas
