Summary
Agentic AI refers to AI systems that can understand a goal, plan a sequence of actions, use tools, make decisions, and evaluate their results with limited human intervention. Unlike traditional AI, which generally waits for a specific instruction and produces an answer, an AI agent can work toward a broader objective. For example, instead of simply answering “How can I plan a trip?”, an AI agent could potentially research destinations, compare options, create an itinerary, and help complete related tasks. How Does Agentic AI Work? A typical AI agent follows a continuous cycle: Understand → Plan → Act → Observe → Evaluate → Repeat The main technologies involved include: Large Language Models (LLMs) for understanding and reasoning Memory for maintaining relevant information Tools and APIs for interacting with external applications Planning and reasoning for breaking complex problems into smaller tasks Feedback mechanisms for evaluating results and correcting mistakes Applications Agentic AI has applications across many industries, including: Healthcare: Administrative assistance and information management Education: Personalized learning assistants Software development: Code generation, testing, and debugging Business: Workflow and process automation Customer service: Intelligent support agents Finance: Data analysis and automated workflows Research: Information gathering and analysis

About Guest Lecture
Agentic AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that can autonomously understand goals, plan tasks, make decisions, use tools, and take actions to achieve a desired outcome. Key Points Traditional AI: Usually responds to a specific prompt or performs a predefined task. Generative AI: Creates content such as text, images, code, or audio based on user instructions. Agentic AI: Goes a step further by planning and executing multi-step tasks with limited human intervention. How Agentic AI Works An agentic AI system typically follows this cycle: Goal → Observe → Reason → Plan → Act → Evaluate → Repeat For example, if asked to organize a business meeting, an AI agent could: Understand the meeting requirements. Check participants' availability. Find a suitable time. Schedule the meeting. Send invitations. Check whether the task was completed successfully. Major Components Large Language Models (LLMs): Provide reasoning and language capabilities. Memory: Stores relevant information from previous interactions. Tools/APIs: Allow agents to interact with external systems. Planning: Breaks complex goals into smaller tasks. Reasoning: Helps determine what action should be taken next. Feedback/Evaluation: Enables the agent to assess results and correct mistakes. Applications Agentic AI can be used in: Customer support Software development Healthcare administration Finance and banking Education Cybersecurity Business process automation Personal digital assistants Research and data analysis
