Vignan Hosts 'Agentic AI Day- 2K26' with Focus on Creativity, Innovation and Responsible AI
Vignan's University, Vadlamudi, hosted 'Agentic AI Day-2K26' with active participation from students and faculty members across various departments. The programme was aimed at helping students explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) beyond conventional applications and use it as a tool for creativity, logical thinking, research, problem-solving and innovation. Vignan Group of Institutions Chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah, who attended the programme as the chief guest, called upon students to continuously upgrade their skills in tune with the rapid pace of technological advancement. He said AI was set to play an increasingly significant role in education, research and industry and urged students to look beyond using AI as a mere technological tool. "Students should learn to use AI to think creatively, solve problems, pursue research and develop innovative ideas," he said, stressing the need for responsible and meaningful use of emerging technologies. He encouraged students to build the skills and confidence needed to adapt to the changing technological landscape. A celebration of creativity and innovation The programme provided students with an engaging platform to experiment with AI through a wide range of creative and knowledge-based activities. Students from different departments enthusiastically participated in events including Co-Write with AI, Future Frame AI: From Now to Next, AI Innovation Idea Challenge, AI Treasure Hunt, AI Visualization Challenge, AI Image Generation, AI Animation Generation, AI Quiz, AI for Green Planet, AI Literature Review, AI Poster Presentation, AI Meets Constitution and Decoding Heritage, among others. The activities brought together AI and diverse academic disciplines, including language, mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, social sciences and humanities. Built around the theme 'Language - Logic - Discovery - Innovation', the programme encouraged students to look at AI from multiple perspectives and explore its practical applications across different fields of study. Experts engage with students A key highlight of the programme was the interaction between students and experts from different domains. Department-specific experts and faculty specialists conducted interactive sessions, sharing insights into emerging developments in AI, its future possibilities and its growing applications in their respective fields. The sessions gave students an opportunity to engage directly with experts, exchange ideas and clarify their questions. The interactions also helped students understand how AI can be meaningfully integrated into academic learning, research, professional skill development and innovation. Students take AI oath An AI oath-taking ceremony was also conducted as part of the programme, with students pledging to use AI effectively, ethically and responsibly and to harness the technology for the benefit of society. The initiative underlined the importance of balancing technological progress with ethical values and social responsibility. Students who excelled in the various competitions were presented with cash prizes worth a total of Rs. 1 lakh, while certificates were distributed to participants in recognition of their involvement. Vignan's University Launches Centre of Excellence on Blue Economy
Sustainable utilization of marine resources, along with protection of the marine environment, is essential for future economic growth, said National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bengaluru, Director Dr. Shailesh Nayak. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Centre of Excellence on Blue Economy at Vignan's University. Established with the theme "Sustainable Ocean - Thriving Future," the Centre will focus on marine resource management, coastal conservation, ocean technologies, research, innovation, blue growth, policy and governance. It will undertake research, technology development and skill-development programmes. Dr. Shailesh Nayak said the blue economy should extend beyond commercial activities and integrate climate change, ecological balance, livelihoods and human safety. He highlighted Andhra Pradesh's extensive coastline and potential in the sector, stressing the need for coordinated efforts by governments, industry and academia. Union Ministry of Earth Sciences Secretary Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala said fisheries, shipping, offshore wind energy, wave energy, tourism and logistics offered vast opportunities. He emphasized initiatives such as the Deep Ocean Mission and called for greater participation of students, researchers and start-ups. INCOIS, Hyderabad, Director Dr. T.M. Balakrishnan Nair stressed the importance of integrating ocean-based sectors and said the Centre could emerge as a regional hub for ocean science research and skill development. MoU Signed with Red Ballon Aerospace Vignan's University and Red Ballon Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. signed an MoU to strengthen collaboration promote industry-academia collaboration in aerospace technology, research, innovation, skill development and student opportunities. Vignan's Institutions Chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah said the Centre would address areas including the Deep Ocean Mission, climate change, marine technologies, research and internships, while Vice-Chairman Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu highlighted opportunities in offshore energy, marine biotechnology, aquaculture, fisheries, seaweed and marine minerals. Vignan's University signs MoU with Taiwan's Asia University
Vignan's University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Asia University, Taiwan, a leading institution of higher education, to strengthen international academic collaboration, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.V. Krishnakishore said on 14-08-2026. At a programme held on the university campus, Prof. P.M.V. Rao, Registrar of Vignan's University, handed over the MoU documents to Ms. Jill Lai, Director, Education Division, Taiwan Education Center (TECC), Asia University. The agreement aims to establish a long-term partnership in the areas of academic exchange, collaborative research, technology transfer, and cultural cooperation. It provides a framework for student, faculty, and researcher exchange programmes, development of dual-degree initiatives, joint research projects, international conferences, seminars, workshops, research publications, exchange of academic resources, and cooperation in securing research funding. University officials said the partnership would provide Vignan students with greater international exposure and opportunities to participate in globally oriented research and innovation programmes, while enabling faculty members to strengthen collaborations through international academic networks. The MoU will remain in force for five years, with provision for extension by mutual consent. Speaking on the occasion, Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu, Vice-Chairman of Vignan Institutions, said the collaboration would accelerate joint research and innovation activities and enhance academic mobility between the two institutions, laying a strong foundation for long-term cooperation. Ms. Jill Lai said the agreement marked an important step in strengthening India-Taiwan educational ties and would facilitate deeper academic engagement through student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research, and innovation-driven educational initiatives. She added that both institutions would work together to create internationally benchmarked learning opportunities for students. India-Taiwan Education Ties Enter a New Chapter
In a significant step towards strengthening academic cooperation between India and Taiwan, a delegation from Asia University, Taiwan, visited Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (VFSTR). The visit is part of the India-Taiwan Academic Collaboration Programme, which will be conducted over the course of a week. The visiting delegation was accorded a traditional welcome by the university management, faculty members, and students. During the interaction, both institutions held extensive discussions on academic collaboration, research partnerships, and opportunities for international engagement. The delegation comprised Prof. Lin Chun-Wei, Dean of Academic Affairs and International Affairs; Prof. Dr. Charles C.N. Wang, Dean, Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration; Prof. Dr. Ching-Hsien Hsu, Dean, College of Information and Electrical Engineering; Ms. Jill Lai, Director, Education Division, TECC, Taiwan; and Dr. Ying-Rong Ho, Assistant Professor, Department of Semiconductor. Krishnakishore said that Vignan's objective is to provide students with global exposure through partnerships with leading international institutions. He observed that combining Taiwan's technological expertise with the talent of Indian students could pave the way for world-class innovation. Vignan's University Celebrates 4th OL & ODL Convocation
The 4th Convocation of the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Vignan's University was held with grandeur on 02-08-2026, where 1,425 students of MBA, MCA, BBA and BCA programmes under OL/ODL received their degrees. Addressing the graduates as the Chief Guest, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman Prof. K. Madhu Murthy said that the future belongs to skills, creativity, adaptability and lifelong learning, emphasising that degrees alone are no longer sufficient in a rapidly changing world. A total of 1,425 students received degrees, including 49 BBA, 63 BCA, 884 MBA and 429 MCA graduates. Prof. Madhu Murthy said a degree is only a gateway to opportunities, while success depends on skills, values, judgement and the ability to adapt. He highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence, automation, renewable energy, biotechnology, quantum computing, digital literacy, problem-solving, communication and teamwork, urging students to move from degree-centric to skill-centric learning and contribute to the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047. Renowned playback singer, voice artist and actress S.P. Sailaja was conferred an Honorary Doctorate. Inspiring graduates, she said, "Nothing is impossible when we work with sincerity and passion" and encouraged students to pursue their goals with discipline, gratitude and confidence. Vignan Educational Institutions Chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah urged students to embrace AI with courage and wisdom, stating that artificial intelligence should enhance learning, productivity and innovation without replacing creativity, ethics and independent thinking. He emphasised that character, discipline and values determine lasting success. Vice-chairman Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu advised graduates to embrace lifelong learning, adapt to rapid technological changes, maintain physical and mental well-being, and value relationships. Chancellor Dr. Pavuluri Subba Rao said entrepreneurship is about identifying opportunities and creating value, encouraging graduates to become job creators rather than job seekers. 14th Convocation of Vignan's University
The 14th Convocation of Vignan's University was celebrated with grandeur at Vadlamudi on 01-08-2026. Addressing the gathering, Attorney General of India Dr. R. Venkataramani said universities must remain centres of the continuous pursuit of truth, knowledge, and justice. He described convocation as the beginning of a new phase in students' lives and urged graduates to use knowledge responsibly for the benefit of society. Emphasizing scientific temper, critical thinking, ethical values, and social responsibility, he encouraged students to question, learn continuously, and uphold truth in the age of rapidly evolving technology. During the ceremony, 2,599 students received their degrees, while 63 students were honoured with gold medals, announced Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. V. Krishna Kishore. The university also conferred honorary doctorates on Shri Rajeev Nannapaneni, CEO, NATCO Pharma; Shri Mahesh Kolli, Founder, President & Joint Managing Director, Greenko; and Shri Mani Sharma, Music Director. Receiving the honour, Shri Rajeev Nannapaneni urged graduates to pursue innovations that create societal impact, emphasizing lifelong learning beyond academic achievements. Shri Mahesh Kolli said India is emerging as a global leader in the energy transition through clean energy and technological innovation. VFSTR Welcomes B.Tech. Freshers with Inspiring Orientation Programme
"When a student does not limit his efforts to mere studies and stretches himself or herself to excel in extracurricular activities, the resultant personality will be multi-dimensional." said Dr. Lavu Rathaiah, Chairman of Vignan Group. Welcoming students and parents, Dr. Lavu Rathaiah highlighted that despite challenging economic conditions, the University achieved 84% placements for the previous batch and recorded a 95% pass percentage. He emphasized the importance of the faculty-student-parent partnership, communication skills, planning, counselling, and world-class infrastructure in shaping successful graduates. He encouraged students to develop resilience, actively participate in extracurricular activities, and pursue NPTEL certifications to enhance employability and secure better career opportunities. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.V. Krishna Kishore advised the students with DRIVE - to avoid distractions; develop resilience; look forward for an industry ready career; be visionary and plan networking. He quoted the thought processes of several stalwarts of engineering and entrepreneurship like Steve Jobs etc., and their resemblance with the academic systems of VFSTRU. The Registrar, Prof. PMV Rao stated that this was the time for intellectual transformation of the students and even minute details should be taken care of for they can help for making well informed decisions. He said that VFSTR was furnished with well planned systems and can nurture the students to be tomorrow's leaders. Dr. K. Meghana, CEO of VFSTRU welcomed the students calling the inaugural as "students' first day of building their future". She counselled that one's choices, habits and efforts culminate into one's success. She said that VFSTRU's campus is now AI enabled and it is now "Agentic Vignan" which is ready for the AI dictated world of tomorrow. She pointed at the exclusive presence of Google Lab in VFSTRU. She brought to the notice of the students and parents that 97.37% of students of VFSTRU were awarded scholarship and equally good portion of them retained the support all through with their consistency and hard work. Dr. Malakondaiah, Former Director General of Police and Advisor to VFSTR, urged students to attend classes regularly, clarify their doubts without hesitation, make the best use of the University's academic and digital infrastructure, and enhance their learning through NPTEL courses. Prof. N. Srinivasu, Dean, School of Applied Sciences and Humanities, encouraged parents to continuously support and motivate their wards. The fourth lecture in the ''Udbhavya - Igniting Wisdom, Inspiring Change'' series was organized on Tuesday at Vignan's University, marking the 41st death anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. Yelavarthi Nayudamma. The programme was jointly organized by the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of English and Other Foreign Languages, and Dr. Yelavarthi Nayudamma Science and Technology Foundation. The initiative aimed at promoting leadership qualities, values, and scientific thinking among students and youth. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, VJK Kishore Sonti, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jeppiaar University, Chennai, said that teachers carry the crucial responsibility of shaping future generations. Vignan's University Organizes Inter-University Hackathon on AI & Technology
Vignan's University, Vadlamudi, in association with PythonGuru and Supervity AI, successfully organized a 36-hour Inter-University Hackathon with participation from 300 teams across various universities. First Prize (Rs. 25,000): T. Karthikeyan Reddy, B. Amarendra Nadh, K. Nithin Chandra (VFSTR University), and Sd. Abdul Mannaan (VIT) Second Prize (Rs. 15,000): Bhavyasree Chennamsetty, Asif Shaik, Aafrin Mohammad, Rohini Sai Pasupula (SRM University) Third Prize (Rs. 10,000): Lasya Mandadapu, Purama Nandini Lakshmi (Vignan Nirula), and Purama Nandana Lakshmi (Vignan Lara) Awarded to outstanding teams in recognition of their innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence.

Global Leap in 5G & 6G Research!
Vignan's University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Norway-based telecom leader Norwaves Networks AS to strengthen advanced research in 5G, 6G, AI-driven networks, edge computing, cloud technologies, and private networks. Campus to Amazon: Internship Milestone
Shaik Sameena and Rakshita Maddala have been selected for prestigious internships at Amazon. Shaik Sameena secured the Data Engineer role with a stipend of 1.08K and will receive a confirmation package of 32 LPA after probation. Rakshita Maddala earned the Software Development Engineer in Test role with a stipend of 1.10K, followed by a confirmation package of 44 LPA upon successful probation. Their achievements mark a proud moment for the Department of CSE and reflect the excellence of the institution.

Vignan's University Celebrates Online & Polytechnic Graduates in 2025 Convocation with a Call for Nation-Building
In a proud celebration of learning, perseverance, and progress, Vignan's University hosted its 3rd Online Education and 1st Polytechnic Education Convocation Ceremony, recognizing the achievements of 1,191 graduates ready to contribute to India's growth story. The event was presided over by esteemed dignitaries, with Dr. Ram Kumar Kakani, former director of IIM Raipur, serving as the chief guest. Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology, and Research celebrated its 13th Convocation Ceremony with grandeur and pride, honoring the academic achievements of 2,122 graduating students across UG, PG, and PhD programs. The event was graced by the Hon'ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri S. Abdul Nazeer, who inspired the gathering with his vision on youth empowerment and nation-building. A total of 60 gold medals were awarded to top-performing students, and honorary doctorates were conferred on three distinguished personalities from diverse fields.
